SMALL TEAM RURAL TACTICS 2 - MOUNTAIN SKILLS

Mountain tactics are the second phase of tactical courses we offer involving remote area manhunting skills. Small Team Mountain Tactics provides law enforcement officers and deputies teams with tactics training, suspect engagement techniques and procedures for safely maneuvering through steep mountainous terrain in order to capture fleeing suspects. Safe rope handling and access techniques are taught to facilitate movement. Basic climbing techniques are taught and practiced, however more importantly, terrain mapping and proper route selection are taught to avoid truly vertical areas. Team equipment needs are reviewed.

PREREQUISITES

All students must be verified law enforcement officers/investigators. This is an arduous course and students must be capable of strenuous physical activity for hours.

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Duty uniform to include all tactical gear (helmet, vest/plate carrier etc) and weapons
  • SIMs coversion kit for rifle with 100 sims rounds
  • Small backpack to carry water and supplies
  • Boonie hat
  • NVG
  • Compass and/or GPS
  • Climbing or rope access harness with 6 carabiners and descender
  • Climbing helmet and light
  • Gloves
